The Tacoma we know today was shaped by its origins as a railway terminus for the Northern Pacific Railway. The railroad brought new people, new industries, new opportunities, and new conflicts into the area. For good or ill, this event changed the lives of everyone living along Commencement Bay.

Dreams & Dispossession explores the stories of the individuals who were directly effected by these changes.

Exhibit will open at 6:00pm for viewing. At 6:30pm, Ethelda Burke will speak on the experiences of her father, Edwin Dorsey, as an African-American railroad porter in the 1940's. Refreshments will be provided.

Event is free or by donation. Donations can be made at the door.

Limited Seating.

For questions call (253) 472-3738.
